Gibson ES-295 1952

Out of stock

Here we have a Gibson ES-295 from the first year of production, 1952. Only 297 units were registered as shipped this first year.

A few years ago, this Gibson was refinished by Angelo of Panucci Guitars. Angelo is a true master of gold top finishes. He did a great job refinishing and relicing the ES-295. Even the typical "greening" can be found in the nitro finish, see photos. Normally, the greening is caused by oxidation of copper pieces in the paint.

Good to mention; The Gibson has been refinished due to a previous bad refin. There are no cracks or other repairs under the paint. Documentation of the guitar, before the refining, is present.

This ES-295 features a laminated maple body with a triple-bound front and single-bound back. The mahogany neck is single bound with split parallelogram inlays.

This ES-295 is not a museum piece in terms of originality, but it is one of the better vintage guitars you will ever get your hands on. Most parts have been upgraded for modern period correct parts. For example, the Gibson is equipped with Seymour Duncan Antique pickups. One of the better P-90s on the market if you ask us.

This Gibson feels and plays great! Nice low action from top to bottom. The two Seymour Duncan P-90s make it a great sounding guitar! In short; a great freshman ES-295!

This beautiful guitar comes with an original Lifton case.
