About the Gibson L-1 1915
This vintage archtop has a solid carved spruce top and solid mahogany back + sides. There are a few cracks on top of the guitar and a piece of the fretboard binding is restored, but besides that the guitar is in a very nice condition. Especially, considering the fact that the guitar is more than a 100 years old!
This antique Gibson is completely original, even the elevated finger-rest (also called pickguard) and trapeze tailpiece with tortoise celluloid plate is all there! Which is very rare as the celluloid of which they are made frequently breaks down over the years.
The chunky V-shaped neck has a nice low action and is currently set up with .12s. The Gibson has a nice dry and woody sound, perfect for blues, country and ragtime!
Comes with a modern case.
