About the Gibson L-50 1941
The (good readable) FON tells us that the guitar was made in 1941. This Gibson workhorse has a solid, not to be confused with the later “pressed” tops, spruce top and maple back and sides. The original tortoise pickguard is a real eye catcher on this guitar.
The mahogany neck has a chunky neck profile with a Brazilian Rosewood fretboard. There’s a small hole on the side of the heel. Probably of an old removed strap holder.
The original tuners have been upgraded with StewMac Golden Age tuners. One of the better replacement tuners if you ask us.
This vintage Gibson is strung with medium gauge bronze strings and the action is nice and low.
Comes with a modern case.
