About the Ibanez 2460NT 1975
This luxury 17-inch Jazz-box has a laminated maple body and a laminated spruce top. The neck is made out of maple with a rosewood fretboard and Gibson L-5 style block inlays.
Just like the Gibson the Ibanez has a bound open book shape headstock, “flower pot / torch” inlay and a beautiful stinger on the backside of the headstock. There’s some deterioration at the bass-side of the headstock, see photos. We decided to keep it like this, because it doesn’t have any consequences for the structure of the guitar.
Throughout the years, the original pickups have been replaced with a very desirable 1970’s Gibson T-Top PAT pickup in the bridge position and a Gibson Burstbucker in the neck position. The L-5 tailpiece made way for a vintage 1960’s Bigsby tailpiece. Last but not least, the tuners have been upgraded with Waffleback tuners, just like the Gibson L-5.
The Ibanez is equipped with an ebony bridge base and a Gotoh TOM bridge. There are two filled holes under the bridge base. It looks like somebody tried to pin the bridge. Fortunately, the current bridge base covers the filled holes.
The Ibanez comes with a vintage case.
