Kay Pacer 1960s

 0,00

Out of stock

Here we have Kay's answer to the Gibson ES-125D. A 1960s Kay Pacer Model K6550 with checkered binding and two DeArmond Speed Bump pickups. Made in Chicago, USA.

This 16-inch vintage hollow body features curly maple back and sides and a spruce top. The neck has a chunky (steel reinforced neck) C-profile with rounded rosewood fretboard and luxurious mother-of-pearl inlay.

This guitar has recently had a refret and neck reset by a professional luthier. Now the Kay has a nice medium action from top to bottom.

On the headstock we find the original single line Kluson tuner. The tuners run smoothly and work well. Like many old Kay guitars, the Kay headstock badge is missing.

The Pacer is equipped with two great sounding DeArmond Speed Bump pickups. The Speed Bumps sound somewhat similar to the tone of Gibson P-90s, but with a lower output. Great for Blues and Jazz! The tone potentiometers do not work properly.

Comes without case or gig bag.
