About the Old Kraftsman Cowboy c. 1958
Back in the good ‘ol days, during the 1930s, 1940s and 1950’s, America’s youth watched their Cowboy heroes on television and listened joyfully to Cowboy radio programs. It didn’t take long for guitar companies to capitalize on the whole Cowboy trend. The big brands as Kay, Harmony, Regal and many others sold acoustic guitars with Cowboy scenes stencilled onto the finish.
Most of these Cowboy Stencilled guitars are unplayable or are used as a slide guitar. This one however is not only playable, it has a perfect playing action.
It’s very hard to put an exact date on this guitar. But considering its features the guitar was probably made by the ending of the 1950s/ beginning of the 1960s.
This really is the perfect campfire guitar or just hang it on your wall. It’s a beautiful piece of Americana!
