Here we have a Gibson A-00 1935. This vintage Gibson mandolin was built in the middle of the “great depression.” During this time, Gibson was experimenting with more affordable models. These instruments were widely used by the “average man,” since not everyone could afford a Gibson F-5.
This vintage mandolin has an arched spruce top with a flat maple back and sides.
This vintage mandolin has an arched spruce top with a flat maple back and sides. On the headstock of the mandolin we find a silkscreened “Gibson” script logo. There is a small paint crack on the back of the headstock, which is not a head crack or tear. Everything about this Gibson is original; except for a missing pickguard.
The mandolin does have some fret wear, but the overall condition is very good. Comes with the original "personalized" Geib case with purple lining.
