We don't often see this. When this Harmony H-51 arrived there was an envelope in the original Geib case, shipped in 1957 to a New York address. The envelope contained the "Country Song Roundups" and the "Hit Parader," magazines with lyrics by Elvis and Hank Snow, among others. In addition, the envelope contained a small poster of Chet Atkins. To top it off, an authentic capo from the 50's and a 60's Fender pick came out of the envelope. These kinds of curiosities make this guitar special for the enthusiast. It's a time capsule to the heyday of Country and Rockabilly.

The instrument is finished in a beautiful two-tone sunburst, tobacco in color. It still has good paint for a guitar that is almost 70 years old. Apart from the usual wear & tear, there are no damages. The sunburst comes into its own due to the tortoise pickguard, pickup ring and art-deco bakelite knobs.

Like many contemporaries, this guitar also has a small crack at the jack input. However, this has no effect on the playability and structure of the instrument.

The quality of Harmony's guitars is hit and miss. However, this guitar is worth playing. Over the years we have owned several Harmony guitars and because of the low action and the chunky neck, this guitar is also a real 'player'!
