We know why Levin guitars are so good. In the late 19th century the company founder, Herman Levin, spent a number of years perfecting his craft in the United States. He even opened his own factory in New York. Eventually, Herman Levin returned to Sweden in 1900 with loads of \u201cNew World\u201d instrument designs and knowledge. As you know; his fellow countrymen, The Strombergs and Larsons, stayed in the United States.<\/p>\n
The Model 22 was initially built with Maple back and sides. A few years later Levin upgraded to solid black Walnut. Fun fact; black Walnut also used on pre-war Epiphone Broadway and Epiphone Spartan models.<\/p>\n
The Mahogany neck has a fine full C-profile with a Rosewood fretboard with diamond pattern mother-of-pearl position markers.<\/p>\n
This action of the guitar is OK, but it\u2019s a bit on the high-side. I would recommend a neck reset for optimal playability. There\u2019s also a small hole on the side of the guitar (jack), see photos. We chose to sell this guitar \u201cas-is\u201d. That\u2019s the reason why it\u2019s priced lower than normal.<\/p>\n
