Geib “Aeroplane Cloth” Gibson Case c. 1937-1942 – Deluxe Plush Lined

In the Gibson catalogs, these cases were referred to as “Aeroplane Cloth,” not tweed, and they were an optional, more expensive upgrade from the standard black Red Line cases.

The condition of the suitcase is excellent for its age: the Aeroplane Cloth (tweed) is neat and clean, all original latches work perfectly, and the purple plush lining is beautifully intact.

These cases with red/black/race stripes were made exclusively for Gibson by Geib. Geib did produce cases for other brands, but with different fabrics and patterns, making this version truly Gibson-specific and highly collectible.
