Gibson ES-140 ¾ 1952

 0,00

Gereserveerd

A compact 1952 Gibson ES-140 3/4 built in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Despite its compact design, the ES-140 was a full-fledged professional instrument. This model was produced until 1957; a thinner version, the ES-140T, was introduced in 1956.

The body is made of laminated maple and is obviously smaller than that of its big brother, the Gibson ES-175. The original tortoise pickguard stands out beautifully against the warm sunburst finish.

The mahogany neck has a comfortable slim C profile with a nut width of 39 mm. An old crack in the headstock has been neatly and firmly repaired, and the original Single Line Kluson tuners have been replaced with correct replicas. Despite its 3/4 size, the neck sits wonderfully in the hand and plays smoothly. With a 23-inch scale, the ES-140 is perfect for guitarists looking for a compact size.

The Gibson has an original P-90 pickup, perfect for everything from jazz to blues. A small piece is missing from the cover of the P-90, see photos.

A rare opportunity-there were only 264 ES-140s produced in 1952-to acquire a vintage Gibson ES-140 3/4

Comes with the original chipboard case, functional but worn. Nice detail: inside the case is a sticker from the original music store “Parker Music Co, Houston, Texas”.
