A 1957 Gibson ES-225T. This model marks the beginning of Gibson's iconic thinline series, which was launched in 1955. In 1957, only 1,192 units left the factory.
The Gibson has a laminated maple body in a beautiful dark Sunburst finish, with binding on both the top and bottom. The mahogany neck has a comfortable C shape, and the rosewood fingerboard features mother-of-pearl dot inlays. The headstock features Double Line Kluson tuners, vintage models from a slightly later date.
The ES-225T is equipped with the original P-90 pickup, original potentiometers, and cap. The original pickguard with bracket are also present. A strap button was added to the side of the body at a later date, and the knobs are not original. The original trapeze tailpiece has been replaced over the years, a modification that many players prefer because of the improved playability and intonation possibilities.
The ES-225T delivers a full sound with a solid bite, thanks to the centrally placed P-90 pickup. A distinctive and rich sound!
Comes with a sturdy case.
