A stunning Gibson ES-225T from 1959, the legendary “holy grail” year. This model marks the beginning of Gibson's iconic thinline series, launched in 1955. Only 716 ES-225Ts left the factory in 1959.
The Gibson has a laminated maple body in a beautiful dark Sunburst finish with binding on the top and bottom. The mahogany neck has a thick C-shape and a rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl dot inlays. On the headstock are the original Kluson tuners.
The ES-225T delivers a full sound with a solid “bite,” thanks to its center-mounted P-90 pickup. It is ideal for jazz, blues, country and rockabilly.
This 16-inch Gibson has been excellently preserved. The sunburst finish is warm and still shines, with almost no scratches. The neck sits nicely in the hand and the frets are in good condition.
The guitar is completely original except for the missing pickguard. It comes with a vintage case that shows signs of use.
