A top of the line (first-owner) Gibson J-185 Centennial 100th Anniversary 1994. To celebrate the company's centennial, Gibson offered 12 vintage reissue models in 1994, with each model hand-crafted in a limited run of only 100 instruments. The Gibson J-185 was the model for October. This is number 74 of 100.
This faithful reissue of a 1951 Gibson J-185 is finished in Antique Natural Nitro lacquer. The J-185 has a solid X-braced Spruce top with highly-figured curly Maple back and sides.
The Maple neck has a C-shaped profile with nicely rounded shoulders. The bound Rosewood fretboard features mother-of-pearl split parralellogram inlays and the frets are showing almost no wear. On the headstock we find the Gibson logo and famous crown inlay with the original set of Gibson Deluxe tuning machines. The backside of the headstock features a commemorative Gibson Centennial plague and stylish Gibson Stinger.
Comes with the original 100th Anniversary Case, COA signed by Ren Ferguson, Case Candy and original invoice.
