A beautiful Gibson L-37 from around 1938. Unfortunately, it is difficult to date this Gibson exactly, as the FON is no longer legible. However, the L-37 version with the burst on the side was produced from 1937 to 1941.
The body measures 14 3/4 inches at the bottom. The top is made of solid carved spruce, the back and sides of solid maple. The original sunburst nitrocellulose lacquer still looks fantastic; only the back shows a neat repair (see photos). A crack on the top has also been repaired. The Gibson's hardware has been replaced.
The neck is made of mahogany, with a comfortable C-profile and a 1 3/4 inch wide nut. The guitar has been professionally set up and has a pleasant, low action. A compact archtop with lots of projection and punch!
This little Gibson is not only a piece of music history, but also a surprisingly playable instrument with an incredible sound! Comes with a luxury case.
