Gretsch 6014 Synchromatic 1953

This 16-inch archtop features a laminated spruce top and arched laminated maple back and sides. The neck is made of maple (nut width 1 11/16”) with a sturdy C-shaped profile and plays comfortably. The fingerboard is made of rosewood with celluloid inlays. One inlay has been replaced with mother-of-pearl over the years. The headstock features the original tuners and the famous Gretsch script logo. The original stairstep bridge and “harp” tailpiece are also present.

As with many Gretsch guitars from this period, the original bindings had deteriorated over time due to the celluloid material used. These have been completely replaced, so that the body and the binding around the neck are once again neat and secure. The Gretsch has also recently been refretted.

Comes in a (well-worn) chipboard case.
