Guild Starfire XII “Conversion” 1966
€ 995,00
Out of stock
This Guild Starfire XII was built in 1966 as a 12-string electric guitar in Hoboken, NJ. Over the years, it was professionally converted to a 6-string. The headstock was reshaped and the old tuning holes were filled. The result? A solid vintage Starfire with a thicker neck. Refinished in Sunburst by Zwier Guitars.
The laminated Mahogany body gives warm, resonant tones. A solid center block reduces feedback and tightens the sound, similar to Gibson's ES-335.
Originally a 12-string, now a 6-string. The conversion was professionally done. The Mahogany neck feels solid, with a Rosewood fingerboard and jumbo frets that show little wear. The action is low and easy.
New potentiometers have been installed. A cavity guard has been added to the back, see photo.
A rare and unique vintage Starfire “player”! It has the history of a 12-string and the feel of a 6-string. Comes with gig bag. Ready to play!
