A rare 1952 National 1100 California - built by Valco. This particular National was only in production between 1949 and 1955.
This National has a laminated maple body and a laminated spruce top. The binding around the body has been professionally replaced in the past. The comfortable “Stylist” neck features a rosewood fingerboard with block inlays. The frets are still in fair condition, but in time we recommend a refret for optimal playability.
One of the most striking features is the beautiful closed tuners and the iconic National headstock badge. Since this badge was missing when we bought the guitar, we made our own reproduction out of brass.
The elegant Bakelite tone and volume knobs, along with the original floating pickup, give this guitar both character and versatility.
This vintage National 1100 comes without a case.
