SS Stewart Thoroughbred “Presentation Model” c. 1895

beautiful SS Stewart Thoroughbred 5-string Banjo, built circa 1895 and in fully playable condition. This open-back banjo is equipped with the original tailpiece. The original tunes have been replaced with modern ones. This is for better tuning accuracy. The original tuners are unfortunately no longer present. This is one of the few Thoroughbred banjos we have seen where all stickers and plaques are complete and in place.

The 5-string neck is Cherry with an Ebony fretboard and very luxurious tree-of-life inlay composed of pewter and mother-of-pearl. The heel is crafted with beautifully carved floral design. The tone ring is gold-plated.

Comes without case or gig bag.
