The Vintage Vega C-50 is a rare gem from the prime years of the Vega Company, renowned for its banjos and archtop guitars in Boston. Vega introduced its first archtop in 1933, the C-50 stands out with its distinctive design, featuring a solid handcarved bookmatched spruce top and rare flamed Mahogany back and sides.
The Vega showcases a stunning dark Cremona Sunburst finish. The guitar's Mahogany neck features a gentle C neck profile, complemented by a bound Ebony fretboard adorned with a stylish center stripe made of contrasting solid wood—also observed on Cromwell-branded Gibsons from that era, adding an extra touch of class.
The "Martin-esque" headstock boasts the elegant "Shooting Star" Vega peghead inlay. Notably, the Vega displays minimal signs of wear.
This old lady is strung with .012 strings. The action is nice and low, playing great up and down the neck.
This Vintage Vega C-50 is a rare find, and its availability is extremely limited. Comes with the original Geib case (expensive) with purple lining.
