A Gibson-made Mastertone Special from circa 1939. These lap steels were produced (by Gibson) between 1939 and 1941.
This 6-string lap steel is made from a solid piece of maple and is finished with a beautiful Crinkle Brown finish. A rather special finish that you don't often see. Even the Gibson P-13 pickup is finished with the Crinkle finish.
The fretboard is decorated with ornamental position markers and on the headstock we find the characteristic silkscreen Mastertone logo. Furthermore, this Mastertone Special is in a very neat condition.
The Kalamazoo comes with the original case.
