Gibson UB-1 Banjo Ukulele 1930s
Here we have a quite rare and sought after 1930 Gibson UB-1, also known as the “baby banjo”.
At 50 inches in total length, this banjo lives up to its nickname! The Maple pot is 6 inches in diameter and the neck is made of Maple with a so-called "boat heel". The headstock features a Gibson script logo. Most Gibson UB-1s have the former "The Gibson" logo.
Overall, this little banjo is in great condition.
This prewar Banjo Ukulele was made for export, as evidenced by the "Made in the U.S.A." stamp on the back of the headstock. It comes with a period correct English case. Therefore, there is a good chance that this Gibson was exported to England.
