Rex Professional Parlor 1910s

Rex Professional half-size Parlor guitar of Brazilian Rosewood, circa 1910. This vintage Parlor guitar is somewhat mysterious. We have had Rex guitars in the store before, but never with these specifications. Rex was a Gretsch brand, but this Rex Professional is definitely not a Gretsch manufactured instrument. An interesting piece of American guitar history!
This ladder-braced parlor has a solid Spruce top, and the sides and back are made of solid Brazilian Rosewood. The neck has a soft V-shaped profile with a chunky feel. The fretboard features luxurious mother-of-pearl inlays. On the slotted headstock we find the original plate tuners, stylish "Rex Professional" gold decal and a new bone nut.
This vintage parlor has been fully restored by Willem Oostendorp. The guitar has had a neck reset and for prevention, the neck has been reinforced with two Carbon Fiber Neck Rods. Also, this vintage parlor has had a refret with thin vintage wire. Furthermore, the bridgeplate has been patched and the Ebony bridge has received a new slanted bone saddle. In short, a particularly thorough restoration. This Rex Professional plays and sounds like a dream, ready for the next 100 years!
Comes with a solid modern case.
