Silvertone H-43 Charlie Christian 1940s

 0,00

Out of stock

Here we have a 1940/50s Silvertone H-43 “Charlie Christian”. These guitars were produced by Harmony in Chicago. This Silvertone used to belong to none other than Rockabilly legend Joe Clay. This guitar is a real player!

The H-53 is one of Harmony’s most visually and tonally alluring instruments, with elaborate checkerboard binding and fancy headstock engraving. The vintage Silvertone is finished in a beautiful two-tone sunburst. The body features a solid pressed Spruce top and Maple back and sides. There are two repaired cracks on the backside of the guitar. However, this has no effect on the playability and structure of the instrument.

The Maple neck has a full and chunky U-shape profile. The Rosewood fretboard features pearl dot inlays. On the headstock we find vintage Single Line Kluson Deluxe Plate tuners.

What immediately stands out about this vintage hollowbody is the amazing sounding non original Charlie Chrstian pickup. When the Silvertone came to our shop it was missing a pickguard, pickup-ring and pickup. We handmade a new tortoise pickguard and ring. As for the pickup we went for a Charlie Christian pickup.

This USA-made Harmony has been set up with .011 strings and plays comfortable.

Comes without case or gig bag.
