Stromberg Voisinet 2 Point Flatback Mandolin 1920s

Out of stock
Here we have a rare Chicago-made Stromberg Voisinet from the late 1920s. The Stromberg Voisinet company was purchased by Kay in 1931. These early Stromberg Voisinet Mandolins do not have a label or serial number in the body. So it is unfortunately not easy to determine the exact age.
Stromberg Voisinet instruments were sold through the Sears catalog at the time. Due to the unique design, these instruments attracted a large group.
This vintage mandolin has a solid spruce top with solid birch sides and back. The neck is made of poplar and has a dyed maple fingerboard. On the headstock we find the original tuners with the vulcanized rubber inserts.
Furthermore, the Stromberg Voisinet is finished with a beautiful bakelite pickguard. Note that the pickguard is secured by two bridge pins adorned with pearl dots. These pins are friction-set into the mounting holes to ensure the secure placement of the pickguard.
Comes with a modern case.
