Here we have a Gibson A-00 1934. This vintage Gibson mandolin was built in the middle of the Great Depression. During this time, Gibson experimented with more affordable models. These instruments were widely used by the average man, as not everyone could afford a Gibson F-5.
This vintage mandolin features an arched spruce top with a flat maple back and sides. The mandolin is finished in a beautiful early Gibson sunburst, called "target-burst". Later in c.1936 the sunburst got bigger.
On the headstock of the mandolin we find a silkscreened “Gibson” script logo. Everything about this Gibson is original, except for a missing pickguard.
The mandolin does have some fret wear, but the overall condition is very good. Comes with the original "personalized" Geib case with purple lining.
