Gibson ES-225T 1959

Out of stock

A beautiful Gibson ES-225T from the holy grail year; 1959. This is the guitar that started Gibson's legendary thinline series in 1955! Even before the production of the; ES-335, ES-345, ES-355, ES-330 and the modest ES-125T.

The ES-225T is a 16-inch Gibson with a bound laminated maple body and a mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard. This copy has a particularly beautiful light sunburst. And apart from a number of minimal signs of wear, the instrument is in a very nice condition.

In the past the tuners have been replaced with period correct repro Kluson tuners. Furthermore, the guitar has had a refret and the guitar is equipped with a repro pickguard.

Unfortunately, it often happens that the parts of Gibson guitars from 1959, among others, are used as "donor" for projects. In particular, the knobs and truss-rod cover are used to dress up their '59er Les Paul (project). These are therefore expensive vintage parts. In this case, one of the knobs has also been replaced, but the other knob and truss-rod cover are original!

From 1955 to 1959, Gibson produced 4800 ES-225s. Only 716 of these were produced in the last year, 1959.

The Gibson comes with a matching Epiphone case.
