Gibson L-1 1915
Out of stock
An over 100-year-old Gibson L-1 from 1915 with a beautiful vintage sound. Bring home a piece of music history.
The L-1 has a solid carved spruce top and a mahogany back and sides. The mahogany neck has a very comfortable V-neck profile with an ebony fingerboard.
The Gibson has some cracks on the top of the guitar and a piece of the binding (fretboard) has been replaced, but otherwise the guitar is in very nice condition. Especially considering that the guitar is over 100 years old!
This antique Gibson is completely original, even the raised finger rest (also called pickguard) and trapeze tailpiece with tortoise celluloid plate is still complete! That is very rare, because the celluloid almost always “crumbled” over the years.
The solid V-shaped neck has a nice low action and is currently professionally tuned with .12s. The Gibson has that typical dry and woody sound, perfect for blues, country and ragtime!
Comes with a (slightly too large) modern case.
