A very rare 1948 Gibson L-12 Premiere. Only 61 Gibson L-12Ps were produced in 1948. With its gold hardware and triple-bound body, this 17-inch Gibson fell between the high-end L-5 and mid-range L-7.
This L-12P has a 17-inch body with a carved spruce top and maple back and sides. The chunky maple neck features a truss rod and a rosewood fretboard with parallelogram inlays. Furthermore, the headstock is finished with a beautiful stinger and original gold-plated Kluson tuners. Except for the pickguard, this Gibson is completely original.
Furthermore, the L-12P is equipped with a period-correct and precious vintage DeArmond FHC. Nowadays it is increasingly difficult to find and to dismantle without traces. A very tasteful upgrade if you ask us!
Apart from the usual traces of use, the instrument is in very nice condition. For example, the entire body has a beautiful crackle, which gives this vintage instrument a beautiful appearance!
Over the years the top has had a repaired center seam crack, see photos. This has been almost invisibly restored and has no consequences for the structure of the guitar.
The L-12P comes with a neat and original Lifton case.
