Gretsch Model 35 ~ 1938

The Gretsch Model 35 has a solid carved Spruce top and curly Maple back (fully arched) and sides. This Gretsch originally came in a fairly exotic sunburst. In the past, someone has therefore chosen to make the guitar Natural. This has turned out very nicely. The Gretsch now has a beautiful vintage amber finish. The finish in combination with the ebony bakelite pickguard is a real jewel for this old lady!

The binding on the Gretsch has some binding rot around the neck joint, like many old Gretsch guitars, but we've decided to keep it original.

The 3-piece, steel-reinforced, Maple neck features a Rosewood fingerboard with a mustache style ending. The original bridge has been upgraded with a stylish Super 400/L-5 style Ebony bridge. On the headstock we find a Rosewood headplate with a tastefully inlaid Gretsch “banner” logo.

This exceptionally well made Gretsch guitar has had a refret and is ready for years of play. Nice low action from top to bottom.
