Martin D-28 1961

 0,00

Out of stock

A very rare Martin D-28 from 1961. What makes it very special is the wood this guitar is manufactured of. Brazilian Rosewood is considered as the very best when it comes to acoustic guitars and because of this asset it is easy to look beyond the justifications made to this excellent player.

As stated before this Martin has a spruce top and a Brazilian rosewood side and back. The soft V-shape mahony neck with ebony fingerboard and is finished with a diamond shape on the back of the neck.

Looking at the modifications one of the previous owners has probably been inspired by the D-28 of Tony Rice, one of the most renown flatpicking guitarists in the world. Similarities like the enlarged soundhole and plain headstock (Martin logo removed) lead us to believe that. This makes this D-28 to be a real Bluegrass machine!

Despite its respectable age you see no cracks, not even in the pickguard. Besides that the action of the guitar is also very good and the original Grover Rotomatic tuners stay well in tune. Like with many acoustic guitars the bridge and the nut have been replaced throughout the years.

This Martin has seen quite some bars and has engaged in quite a few gigs and that can be seen. The back of the guitar has some bucklewear and the front of the body has turned a bit matte. If you are looking for a guitar with natural relic and lots of mojo, this Martin is what you’re looking for.
The guitar comes with non-original Martin case.
