Here we have a Valco made 1960s National Varsity 66. This guitar started its career with a black finish. Over the years, someone thought it was a good idea to give the National a gold finish. In some places of the guitar you can still see the black finish coming through.
This National could be straight out of The Jetsons! The Resoglass (fiberglass) body has a lot of wear & tear but is in good condition for its age.
The mahogany neck has a slim shaped "C-profile" with a nut width of 1 11/16". The neck has also been stripped of its lacquer. On the headstock we still find the original National logo and the original Double Line Kluson tuners.
This uniquely shaped vintage guitar delivers a versatile tone. Because of the slightly higher action it is a great slide guitar.
