Here we have a rare Chicago-made Stromberg Voisinet from the late 1920s. The Stromberg Voisinet company was purchased by Kay in 1931. These early Stromberg Voisinet guitars do not have a label or serial number in the body. So it is unfortunately not easy to determine the exact age.
Stromberg Voisinet instruments were sold through the Sears catalog at the time. Due to the unique design, these instruments attracted a large group.
This ladder braced Parlor has a solid spruce top with solid birch sides and back. The neck is made of poplar and has a dyed maple fingerboard. Furthermore, the Stromberg Voisinet is finished with beautiful multicolored bindings. And on top of the guitar we find a beautiful flower stencil. Except for the oversized bridge, this guitar is completely original.
The bridge has some cracks, see photos. Given the stability, we have chosen to keep it that way.
Comes with a very nice vintage case and a lesson card from 1938 with some good advice!
