Washburn 5256 1936

Here we have a rare Washburn 5256 “Solo Model” from 1936. This vintage Washburn was made for the Tonk Brothers by Regal in Chicago. This vintage guitar is larger than a Martin 000 but smaller than a Gibson Jumbo or Martin dreadnought.
The back and sides are Mahogany and the top is Spruce. Over the years, the signature Washburn “Smile” bridge has been replaced by a Martin-style Ebony Bridge. The tuners have been changed for period correct vintage tuners.
The overall condition of this approximately 84 year old Washburn is good. Naturally, the guitar has the necessary traces of use. And there are several cracks on the back, see photos.
Comes with the original Geib case with purple lining.
