Here we have a Gibson-made Kalamazoo KTG-11 tenor guitar from c. 1937. The Kalamazoo KTG-11 tenor guitar was produced from 1933 to 1940 and has the same body as the KG-11. Some Kalamazoo models had a FON (Factory Order Number) stamped inside the body. This example doesn’t have a FON. So, we think this Gibson-made Tenor guitar was made around 1937-1938, considering its specs and looks.

About the Kalamazoo KTG-11 1937

This ladder braced Tenor guitar features a solid mahogany body with solid spruce top and mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard. There’s plenty of wear and tear to the finish, but there are no cracks or repairs. The bridge pins are replacements but otherwise it’s all original.

This vintage Kalamazoo was made for export as evidenced by the “Made in the U.S.A.” stamp on the back of the “rooftop”headstock. We found a small sticker of an old music store in “The Hague, The Netherlands” on the heel of the guitar. So, this guitar was probably exported to The Netherlands.

Comes with a gig-bag.
