Gibson Melody Maker D 1964

 0,00

Out of stock

A 1964 Gibson Melody Maker D. Don't let its basic looks fool you! This is a versatile and amazing sounding vintage guitar.

This Melody Maker has a mahogany body and neck. The Tobacco Sunburst has aged beautifully over the years. This way you can see a subtle checking of the paint over the entire guitar.

Furthermore, the Gibson with its 1 11/16 nut width has a very comfortable neck profile. Also, the guitar has recently had a refret, without a doubt one of the best refrets we've ever seen.

Normally this Gibson is equipped with a black single-layer plastic pickguard with black pickup covers. In this case all black parts have been replaced by white parts. The pickguard itself looks like a well-crafted one, but the pickup covers appear to be from a later 1960s Melody Maker SG model. The potentiometers are stamped “137 6614” (CTS 1966). So here we have a 1964 Melody Maker with some later parts.

The overall condition of the guitar is really amazing, with light playwear around the body. Very hard to see, but there is also a small repair on the side of the body.

One of the previous owners engraved his name on the vibrato. We think it says"Ray Wood". We did some research on Ray Wood, but unfortunately we found nothing about Ray.

This guitar comes without case.
