An amazing sounding Martin Ditson Model 111 Reissue 2006. Built in a limited edition between 2006 and 2008. This guitar is Martin's recreation of the first dreadnought built by Martin, for the Oliver Ditson Company. You can therefore safely say that this is the grandfather of the world's most popular guitar!
The back and sides of this Limited Edition Martin are made of Mahogany and the top is made of Adirondack Spruce. The bridge and bridge pins are made of Ebony. The body is finished with a beautiful Ditson Style Tortoise pickguard. The Martin features engraved Waverly tuners and on the back of the headstock we find the characteristic “Ditson Co.” stamp.
The Mahogany neck has a pleasantly full profile and the action is nice and low. The original pre-war Ditson models do not have an adjustable truss rod, this one does. A very welcome improvement, if you ask us.
The Martin has some light signs of wear, but the overall condition is very good!
