Here we have a circa 1962 Old Kraftsman Vanguard. This vintage guitar was built by the Kay Music Company of Chicago and was sold through the Spiegel catalog.
This guitar just screams mojo! The vanguard has a poplar (veneer maple) body with a beautiful "heavy relic" tobacco sunburst finish. The poplar neck has a C-shape profile and rosewood fingerboard has mother of pearl dot inlays.
The Old Kraftsman guitar is equipped with two single coil pickups. On the headstock we find a decorative screen printed Old Kraftsman logo and the original open geared tuners.
There is normal playability on the guitar, but the action is more suitable for slide.
